This seminar aims to bring together scholars and theatre practitioners working in refugee testimonies, translanguing, translation, memory, and migration.
Led by Dr Siân Lucas (Social Work) and Dr Fiona Barclay (Literature and Languages), with two performers, the director and producers of the play, The Trojans: Sanna Al Froukh, Hiba Alwadi, Victoria Beesley, Charlotte Eagar, and William Stirling.
In The Trojans, Euripides’s ancient play on the consequences of war is reimagined with Syrian testimonies of dispossession and home-making in Scotland.
The seminar will start with a tour of the ‘Experiences of Exile’ exhibition, starting at 2pm in the foyer of the Pathfoot Building.
All are welcome, but there are limited places so please register your attendance by emailing Beatrice Ivey.
